Elasticity　- Coefficientが１を超えるとElastic

Elasticity 、弾力性。ある Market factor が、別の Market factor の Change の影響を受けて Change すること。Percentage で Measure される。

以下のような Elasticity がある。

• Elasticity of demand
• Elasticity of supply
• Income elasticity of demand
• Cross elasticity of demand

Elasticity of demand

Price による Demand の弾力性。ある Product の Price が上がったときの Demand の Responsiveness（反応）。

Demand が Price に対して Sensitivity（敏感） に Respond だと、Elasticity が強いといえる。Elasticity は Coefficient（係数）で表される。

Arc method

Elasticity を Coefficient で表すメソッド。

Change in quantity demanded (Demand の Quantity の 変化率) を、 Change in price demanded (Demand の Price の 変化率) でわる。

Change in quantity demanded ÷ Change in price demanded

この変化率は、Change による増減を Change 前の値でわって求める。

たとえば、

Quantity demand がこのように変化

100 → 160

Price per unit はこのように変化

30 → 27

の場合、

Change in quantity demanded は、
(160 – 100) ÷ 100
= 60 ÷ 100
= 0.6

Change in price demanded は、
(30 – 27) ÷ 30 
= 3 ÷ 30
= 0.1

Coefficient は、

Change in quantity demanded を Change in price demanded でわる。
0.6 ÷ 0.1 = 6

より正確に測るには、Change による増減を Average でわって求める。

もっと詳しく測るには、Change による増減を（After + Before）でわって求める。

たとえば 上述の例をもっと詳しく測るには、

Change in quantity demanded は、
(160 – 100) ÷ (160 + 100) 
= 60 ÷ 260
= 0.23076

Change in price demanded は、
(30 – 27) ÷ (30 + 27) 
= 3 ÷ 57
= 0.05263

Coefficient は、

0.23076 ÷ 0.05263 = 4.3845

Elastic

Coefficient が１を超えていると Elastic、 Price の影響を Demand が Sensitive に受けやすい。

Price が上がると、 Demand が Price の変化率以上に下がる。結果、Revenue も下がってしまう。

Substitute（代用品）のある Goods やぜいたく品があてはまる。

Elastic goods

Demand が Price の影響を受ける Sensitivity な Goods。奢侈品や Substitute（代用品） がある Goods があてはまる。

• Luxuries
• Large expenditures
• Durable goods
• Substitute goods

Perfectly elastic

Demand が上がると、Price が動かずに Quantity が増える。

Inelastic

Coefficient が１未満のときは Inelastic、 Price の影響を Demand があまり受けない。

Price が上がると、Demand は Price の変化率より小さく下がる。なのでRevenue が上がることも。

Substitute のない Goods や、必需品があてはまる。

Inelastic goods

Demand が Price の影響をあまり受けない Goods

• Perishable goods
• Complementary goods

Perfectly inelastic

Demand が上がると、Quantity が動かずに Price が増える。

Unit elastic

Coefficient が１のときは Unit elastic、Unitary。Price が上がると、その同じ変化率で Demand が下がる。

Elasticity of supply

Price に対する Supply の弾力性。ある Product の Price が上がったときの Supply の Responsiveness。

Income elasticity of supply

Income に対する Supply の弾力性。Income が上がると Supply がどれくらい Response するのか。
Coefficient（係数）が0を超えると Normal goods、Coefficient（係数）が0未満だと Inferior goods となる。
