Statement of financial position

Not-for-profit entities (非営利団体) は、Organization の Basic information に Focus した Financial statements を作成する。

• Statement of functional expenses
• Statement of Cash flows

企業会計の Financial statements とは名前がちがう。

Statement of financial position は、財務状態を表す Not-for-profit entities の Statement 。企業会計のBalance sheet に相当するが、Balance sheet とは言ってはいけない。Statement of financial position。

Statement of financial position は、Assets、Liabilities、Net assets の３つにわかれている。まるで Balance sheet 、でも Statement of financial position 。

Statement of functional expenses は、以前は Voluntary health and welfare organization でのみ作成が求められていたが、いまではすべての Not-for-profit entities が作成する。(Separate statement でも Statement of Activities の Face でもいい)

Assets

資産の部。

Cash

Donation でえた Cash は、Unrestricted なら Current assets。Restricted なら Non current assets。Cash が Non current assets の場合もある。

Investments

Investment は Fair value で計上。

・Bond
・Stock

Public viewing に供してる美術品ならば、資産計上を行わないという選択もできる。

Liabilities

負債の部。

Donation

Donor から受け取った Donation が、Other entity に Contribute するための預り金の性質をもっていた場合、 Liability として計上する。Revenue ではない。

以下の両方を満たしていると、Donation は預り金。Liability として計上する。

• Donor が Donation における Power をわたさない。もちつづけている。
• Recipient organization である Not-for-profit organization と、Donation の Beneficiaries が Interrelated でない。

逆に、どちらかでも満たしていないと、Contribution revenue として計上する。

Contribution revenue

上記の条件を言い換えると、

下記のいずれかに該当する Donation は、Liability ではなく Contribution revenue となる。

• Donor が Recipient organization である Not-for-profit organization に Power をわたした
• Recipient organization である Not-for-profit organization と、Donation の Beneficiaries が Interrelated

Net assets

Not-for-profit entities の Net assets の特性は、Residual interest（残余持分） 。

株式会社は、Owner の所有物なので、Net asset の特性は Ownership interest になる。

それに対し、Not-for-profit entities の Net asset の特性は、Residual interest となる。

Net assets の Restriction

Statement of financial position では、Net assets の Restriction を公開する。

たとえば、

• Unrestricted
• Temporarily restricted
• Permanently restricted

や

• Net asset without donor restriction　
• Net asset with donor restriction　

のように Restriciton によって表示項目をわける。

Unrestricted

Unrestricted な Net assets 。Net asset without donor restriction 。

ここには、Net assets released from restriction が含まれる。

Stipulate された Donation をもらったときにたてる Temporarily restricted revenue 。

この Restricted donation が Stipulated（要求された）どおりに使われると、Net assets released from restriction がたつ。

つまり、Stipulate されていた Donation が、Stipulated どおりに使われると、Statement of financial position の Unrestricted net assets (Net asset with donor restriction) が上昇することになる。

また、全ての Expense は Unrestricted net assets (Net assets without donor restrictions) を Decrease

Temporarily restricted

Temporarily な Restrict がかかった Net assets 。Time endowment 。Net asset with donor restriction 。

ここには、Net assets temporarily restricted が含まれる。

Stipulate された Donation をもらったときにたてる Temporarily restricted revenue 。この Restricted donation が期末に残っていると、Net assets temporarily restricted がたつ。

つまり、Stipulated されていた Donation が期末に残っていると、Statement of financial position の Temporarily restricted net assets (Net asset with donor restriction) に表示される。

Permanently restricted

Permanent な Restriction がかかった Net assets 。Regular endowment 。Net asset with donor restriction 。

元本使用不可で、運用によって収入を稼ぐ。Governmental fund の Permanent fund のようなもの。
